Speedline is a funny thing.
If you’ve been a regular of this blog, you may have noticed that it has become my acquired taste.
The name Speedline says it all.
It’s equal part Globish and bravado.
They’ve been around for awhile, and as i’ve written earlier, they have been everywhere.
Everywhere from high quality small batch wheels that are now worth a small fortune like the SL 364 or SL976, to the heavily produced light duty wheels like those produced for the Renault Clio Baccara (SL533) that will see their clearcoat peel like a post-it; in between there are rarities and odd round stuffs, like the « doppelreifen* » produced for the Mercedes W126 (SL236).
[…]
Embarked on this journey, I’m gathering information on what Speedline has been doing over the 1980’s and 1990’s decades. It’s a work in progress – hopefully a never ending one – so please feel free to leave a comment to share and increase that sort of knowledge.*

Hi, I was researching for a Speedline model and so I started reasearching online « Speedline »+ »SL random number »
I did SL1-500, caught other numbers, then SL1180-1200.
I saved them all in pictures as I like wheels, giving their names with as much info I could find.
How can I send to you my efforts¿?
Regarding your question regarding Peugeot 205 wheels, just different models.
SL201 Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6 – 5.5J×14″
SL299 Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 – 6J×15″ ET41.9
SL398 4×100? similar to VW Golf Country but 6×13 ET33
SL434 Peugeot 205 GTI Gr. A PTS (Peugeot Talbot Sport) 7×15″ (I believe)
SL516 Peugeot 205 Rallye Gr. A PTS 5×13″ 89.804.00
These, the ones of the Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2 are the ones I was looking for:

OK; in your post you list SL398 as VW, and SL434 are 6.75×15″. With an impressive ET8, that makes them super appealing.

Yes the offset is quite impressive, those wheels are very popular in France for 205 and also later PSA applications (306, Saxo….) A company in South of France sells them new for 600€ a set. All castings are legit so I assume they are from the the Speedline factory. I added a couple of pics the later one in anthracite grey is the one I’m referring to

hello, just woke up, have first to do the morning chores (feed the cats and the dog, wash myself, bring out the dog, having a coffee, answer to work emails and messages) and when I will have a bit of time later I certainly will 🙂

I’ve accepted you earlier, and also, I’ve wrote directly to Speedline asking for a list 😄
